This past May AMP was offering the Snapshot Promo for Maternity Shoots. Of course our first shoot was with one of our favorite couples, Sammy and Becca. We have had the privilege to shoot them throughout the years, documenting very special moments in their lives. Thanks Sammy and Becca for supporting AMP! Here is the gorgeous couple + the baby bump!

Seijinshiki Photo Shoot

In Japan, you are recognized as an adult, or "Seijin", when you turn 20. Young adults turning 20 that year dress up and come together on January 2 to celebrate. Here, you see Mana wearing a Furisode Kimono. The main characteristic of this type of kimono is the super long sleeve and it is only allowed to be worn by bachelorettes. Traditionally, a young woman will "ok" a marriage proposal by fanning ("furi") her sleeve ("sode") at her suiter. Once a girl marries, the sleeves are cut shorter, not only to symbolize that she's married, but also to make every day chores easier to do.
